I agree with you, it is impossible to check every post for compliance. However, in this case, the best that we can do is to remove the posts in question or the posters can modify the posts and comply with the copyright conditions.

To pran, thank you. I guess it does make sense to give the posters a little time to acknowledge the original author. It doesn't change the fact that they have already stolen other people's intellectual property, but it seems fair to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I don't want to assume that they were really trying to pass off other people's ideas as their own. It isn't the most comforting thought, but I'd rather believe that they were ignorant than think that they intentionally stole somebody else's words. I'd rather believe that people just don't know any better than believe that they would consciously do something they know is wrong.

I hope I'm right... so I have to agree with you - give the offenders a chance to correct themselves. If they really didn't mean to do wrong, they would try and rectify the situation, right? They would do what stannum suggested and "provide a link back to the source of the recipes they place[d] on this thread," right?

Of course, it shouldn't stop there. The fact still remains - whether it was intentional or not, they stole from somebody else. There has to be, at the very least, acknowledgement of that fact - not by me, you, or the aggrieved, but by the offenders. They have to admit that they plagiarized.

What happens after that, I'm not sure. What happens should the offenders fail to do anything at all to patch things up, I'm not sure either. Again, I leave it up to the moderators to figure out how to handle this matter. Once again, I'm just voicing my opinion.
